WE BOLDLY DREAM OF A DAY WHERE DIFFERENCES ARE CELEBRATED

And we've been working toward that day for over the past decade in Uganda.

what we’re about

Ekisa is inherently defined by and unwavering in our core values. They are the foundation of our work, our approach, and the resilience of Ekisa. We fulfill our mission by living out these values each and every day.

IMAGO DEI

We believe all children have value because of their Creator who made them.

family
preservation
& strengthening

We prioritize preserving and strengthening families because we believe it is God's design for children to grow up in families.

quality of life

We believe in having a holistic approach to helping children and families so that their daily lives can be improved for years to come.

helping not hurting

More than giving a handout, we believe in equipping people with the tools and knowledge to change their own circumstances.

our vision

We envision a Uganda where every child grows up in a loving family, regardless of their disability. We believe that every person deserves to be included in a community that recognizes their value and unique contribution. We dream of the day when differences are celebrated, no more children need to be institutionalized, and people with disabilities are given the unconditional love and support they need to grow and thrive.

Today, we stand in the gap and come alongside children and their families as they rewrite the story of disability in their communities.

Our Story

Ekisa Ministries was founded in 2010 by two women, both named Emily, who saw a need to bring better care to children living with disability.

the ekisa team

We are movement of people who believe disability is not inability.

In Uganda, we are an amazing team of over 100 staff members who love, celebrate, and stand up for the children and families we serve.

Financials

We emphasize wise stewardship.

Children living with disabilities are some of the most marginalized and vulnerable people in Uganda. It's our privilege as Christians to serve them and their families – and that also means being wise stewards of the donations that we receive so that we can give children the best possible care. Ekisa is committed to the wise stewardship of every donation that we receive, and we are incredibly grateful for your partnership in our mission. Our commitment to stewardship is demonstrated in our Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) membership. You can find our financials within our annual reports.
