Innocent’s Story
Without Immaculate, Innocent’s life would most likely look a lot different today. His grandmother took him in after his parent’s weren’t able to provide the care he needed to thrive. He had suffered from malnutrition and neglect, and was far from the healthy, happy boy we’ve come to know and love. Immaculate is incredibly proud of how much Innocent has developed and grown since being brought into her home.

Kato's Story
At only two weeks old, Kato suffered from a severe case of cerebral malaria which caused him to develop cerebral palsy. His mom, Rehema, was determined that his diagnosis would not define him, or their life as a family.

A Month of Honoring Moms
In honor of Mother’s Day, this month we’ll be sharing the stories of moms who inspire us with their unwavering commitment to raising their child living with special needs despite the cultural stigma surrounding disability in Uganda. These trailblazing women are resisting the status quo and advocating for the rights of their child. They’re doing everything in their power to help their child grow, thrive and reach their full potential. We’re honored to see the love and joy in these families every day!
